Alfa Romeo Electric Guitar by Harrison Custom Guitar Works

Harrison Custom Guitar Works has just unveiled its bespoke creation of 11 hand-built 'Alfa Romeo' electric guitars, marking the 11 decades the Italian marque has been in existence.
The musical instrument is finished in bright red, with the car manufacturer’s hood badge as a volume dial, on a semi-open body a nod to the classic radiator grilles of iconic Alfa Romeo models of the past.
The British company has also revealed that each custom guitar takes 8 months to build, at a cost of £4000, using materials and craftsmanship associated with both car building and musical instrument production.
Designed by Guy Harrison, the Alfa-themed guitar, has a Korina wood neck and a body made from poplar and maple — these are combined with aluminium inserts, milled from single billets that house the five hand-wound pickups, and the back and rear supports are formed from carbon fibre, for an automotive touch.

Finally, a four-leaf clover aluminium/coral insert in malachite green can be found on the third fret, inspired by the ‘Quadrifoglio Verde’ badge that has adorned the world’s fastest Alfa Romeos for the last 90 years.
