Colourful Headphone Brand Continues Collaborations
Scandinavian audio brand Urbanears has tapped American fashion designer Marc Jacobs to design a range of over head and in-ear headphones, adding to the business’s list of = collaborations.
The project, overseen by the 51-year-old’s Marc by Marc Jacobs diffusion line, delivers three new colourways — oil, berries and ocean — on two of Urbanears’ most popular styles, Humlan and Kransen.
The over head Humlan (£41.67) features washable parts, including a detachable canvas headband and ear cushions, as well as a rope cord, microphone and remote, and a ZoundPlug socket for sharing music.
The over ear Kransen (£28) comprises the same rope fixings, in addition to an anti-tangle CableLoop solution and SnapConstruction storage technology.
Urbanears said the designs are inspired by “the various tones of nature and representative of the elements that come together to give music its raw beauty.”
It is not the first time the tech firm has enlisted the work of other designers. Previously it has released range alongside Swedish retailer H&M and Scottish fabric producer Harris Tweed.
Earlier in the month the colourful headphone company unveiled its AW14 collection, containing a number of new autumn shades.
Jacobs has also put his name on products with the likes of Vans, New Era, Stubbs & Wootton and Diet Coke.
The collaborative headphone collection is available to buy now from both Marc Jabobs’ and Urbanears’ transactional website.
