British Fashion Council Announces Shortlist
The British Fashion Council (BFC) has announced which menswear brands and designers are in the running to be honoured at the this year’s annual British Fashion Awards.
Of the thirteen categories, two are dedicated solely to the menswear industry. Astrid Andersen, Craig Green and Lee Roach will compete to be crowned Emerging Menswear Designer, while either Christopher Bailey for Burberry, J.W. Anderson, Paul Smith or Tom Ford will take home the Menswear Designer title.
Joint categories are made up by Establishment Designer, Accessory Designer, International Designer, Red Carpet Designer, Brand and Creative Campaign prizes. Names familiar to male shoppers appear in all seven such as Margaret Howell, Nicholas Kirkwood, Hedi Slimane for Saint Laurent and Alexander McQueen.
Additional honours include the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator, which recognises a British stylist, make-up artist, photographer, art director or producer, and the BFC Outstanding Achievement award. All winners are selected by members of the global fashion industry.
It is the second announcement from the BFC this week, having recently revealed that London Collections: Men will move to a four day schedule as of January 2015.
An official ceremony will take place at the London Coliseum on Monday 1st December, hosted by British comedian, actor, author and television presenter Jack Whitehall.
