Lorde Wishes Someone Warned Her About The Golden Globes (Ahem, TSwift)

Lorde may not have scored the Golden Globe for "Yellow Flicker Beat," her song from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, last night, but the experience of the awards show was enough for the New Zealand singer. "This is like nothing that I've ever done before," Lorde marveled to ELLE on the red carpet. "I don't really do red carpets or anything. I'm not used to this. It's another kind of dimension." She paused, looking around at the scene at the Beverly Hilton, and added, "It's very Beverly Hills."
The singer has plenty of famous friends, including Taylor Swift, but didn't enlist any advice on surviving the awards. "Someone should have told me what to do," she laughed. "But you've just got to go and do it and it's all good."

The 18-year-old singer burst into the spotlight with her 2013 debut album Pure Heroine and fans are eagerly anticipating her follow-up. It sounds like the wait may be short. "I'm writing a record," Lorde, who wore two different crop top looks last night (one for the show, one for the after parties), confirmed. "I'm getting that process started. I'm taking some time off at the moment and then I'll get back into it. I have songs written. For me, I like to write lyrically first and have the ideas really firmly established before you get the music. So I'm in that process right now."
She plans to work with her longtime collaborator and producer Joel Little again, but also has some big dreams for who else might appear on the album. "There's so many amazing people I'd like to work with," Lorde said. "Win Butler from Arcade Fire. David Bowie. He's crazy amazing. I'd love to collaborate with Bowie."
She had no word on whether Swift will appear on the album, but our fingers are crossed.
