Thom Sweeney To Open First Ready-To-Wear Store
Will Also Offer Made-To-Measure Service
London tailor Thom Sweeney is to open its first ever ready-to-wear store next month to complement its existing bespoke shop.
The new 922sq ft unit in Bruton Place will offer the label’s mainline, currently exclusive to online menswear retailer Mr Porter, alongside a made-to-measure service.
A concept built around an essential tailored wardrobe of 20 pieces will act as the cornerstone. Individual items are designed to be worn off the peg or be customised in a selection of fits and fabrics.
The store will also host collaborative pieces from brands, such as a recently launched luggage line with Troubadour.
Speaking about the opening, founders Thom Whiddett and Luke Sweeney said: “The new store will look after our clients, who want ready-to-wear or made-to-measure and don’t have the time for bespoke.”
“The 20 piece collection has been created around an ideal wardrobe of essentials in a slightly more directional aesthetic than our bespoke.”
Two key silhouettes will make up the limited offering, including a “structured British inspired cut” and a “casual softer silhouette”.
The interior will be inspired by Thom Sweeney’s bespoke store on Weighhouse Street, with an equally “informal approachable atmosphere,” used.
The Thom Sweeney ready-to-wear and made-to-measure store, located at 33A Bruton Place, London, is tipped for a November launch. Currently ready-to-wear prices start from £395.
