While we eagerly await photos of The Dress—it's been confirmed that it's Oscar de la Renta! But is it sleeved? Kate Middleton-esque? The anticipationnn!—we have to content ourselves with the fashions we have
seen from Amal Alamuddin this weekend. George Clooney's bride looked
stunning for the rehearsal dinner Friday night. Joined by famous friends
like Cindy Crawford, Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, Bill
Murray, and Bono, the two rehearsed at Venice's Hotel Cipriani, where
many of the wedding weekend festivities are taking place.
Alamuddin wore a gorgeous red Alexander McQueen dress with a dramatic
hemline that we'll describe as a "waterfall" cut because of its
cascading back—and this is a classy event, so we shouldn't be using the
word "mullet."
This isn't the first big fashion moment we've seen from Alamuddin
this weekend. The bride arrived in a ladylike, striped Dolce &
Gabbana dress to kick off the Venice fun. And she
looked—surprise!—gorgeous.
Fingers crossed we'll see wedding dress photos soon because you know it's going to be BEYOND.
Update: Sunday morning post-ceremony, Alamuddin killed it once again with her departure dress—that lace, those flowers, that RING! (THOSE LEGS.)
While the official gown hasn't been revealed yet, this amazing
Giambattista Valli number is continued reassurance anything and
everything she wore this weekend will be perfection.
Update 2: Well, we have officially have a look at one
of the outfits that Alamuddin wore to get married! While we're waiting
on the gown she sported for the more festive ceremony, she and Clooney
made things official-official today in a civil ceremony—and the bride wore a stunning white jumpsuit (and chic as all get-out floppy hat) for the occasion.
Oh, and in case you were wondering, George knows he has quite the catch.
Thumbs up, indeed.
