The Virgin Galactic Team
Richard Branson's spaceflight company Virgin Galactic has been slated to begin commercial space flights for the year 2014 and some of our favorite celebrities have signed up to take flight.  These eleven celebrities are willing to risk life and limb in order to observe the stars for the mere cost of $200,000.
Space tourism is a hot topic among the rich and famous and these celebs have jumped at the opportunity to make the trip into orbit for a two-and-a-half hour voyage.  Discover if your favorite celebrities are making the journey for the total of six minutes of weightlessness.

Angelina will make a fine ambassador to aliens should she make their acquaintance and one thing is for certain, she would definitely be the most beautiful woman in space.

Brad Pitt

Brad Pitt
Like his partner Angelina, Brad is sure to light up the sky with his star power alone.  He is gorgeous and can survive the zombie apocalypse with ease.

Ashton Kutcher

Ashton Kutcher
Ashton was Virgin Galactic's 500th customer to sign up for the trek and for that, he received a call from Richard Branson himself.  Branson said, "He is as thrilled as we are at the prospect of being among the first to cross the final frontier (and back!) with us and to experience the magic of space for himself."

Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber
Justin is an international singing sensation, so it's no wonder why he coughed up the cash to make the journey to the final frontier.  After making his reservation, he took to his official Twitter account to say, "I wanna do a concert in space."

Katy Perry

Katy Perry
Katy appeared to have trekked into space in her video for "ET", but now she is making it a reality.  Of space travel, she said, "I’m so into extraterrestrial stuff.  It’s very difficult for me to look up into the sky in the middle of the night and not think that our planet is one of… a bajillion."

Russell Brand

When his ex-wife Katy Perry bought herself a ticket aboard the galactic flight, she also purchased one for Russell.  Let's just hope for their sakes that they won't be seated next to one another.

Leonardo DiCaprio

Leonardo DiCaprio
Leonardo DiCaprio actually purchased two tickets for the galactic trip and auctioned off the second for charity.  The ticket was snatched up by Russian real estate broker Vasily Klyukin for the price of $1.5 million.

Tom Hanks

Tom Hanks
Tom Hanks not only appeared in a movie about space travel, but has also written a letter in support of the idea of space exploration.  Hanks was also one of the very first celebrities to sign up for the trip!

Paris Hilton
Paris Hilton
Paris eagerly signed up for the chance to take a trip to space, but has since admitted that she was nervous about the decision.  She revealed, "I'm very scared to do it.  What if I don't come back?  With the whole light years thing, what if I come back 10,000 years later and everyone I know is dead?  I'll be like, 'Great.  Now I have to start all over."

Stephen Hawking

Stephen Hawking
Stephen Hawking is a legendary astrophysicist with a dream of reaching space.  Of that, he said, "I don’t think we will survive another 1,000 years without escaping beyond our fragile planet.  I therefore want to encourage public interest in space and I’ve been getting my training in early."

Kate Winslet

Kate Winslet
Kate Winslet saved Richard Branson's elderly mother from a fire at his Necker Island home after it was struck by lightning.  As a wedding present, Branson gifted the actress with a ticket aboard the SpaceShipTwo flight.
Of space tourism, Branson said,"Virgin Galactic is now gearing up for the commercial service, finalizing cabin interiors, flight suits, training programs and the multiple other details required to offer hundreds of aspiring astronauts a safe and awe-inspiring journey.  And we are on track for a 2014 start of commercial service.  I can't wait to get up there.  It's incredible to think only 500 people have ever been into space, that's including all the Russians, all the Chinese and all the Americans put together.  We believe we can do that in our first year."
